PLEASANT HILL — Harper Wilson brought home some hardware in leading the Marshalltown girls’ golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Southeast Polk Invitational on Thursday at Copper Creek Golf Club. Wilson earned a medal for her 12th-place finish, shooting a 12-over-par 83 to lead the Bobcats. LAS VEGAS — The Players Era will expand from 18 to 24 teams this year and split into two tournaments, with the two most recent national champions headlining a pair of loaded fields. Michigan, which won the national title in April, will be in the Players Era Sixteen on Thanksgiving week in Las Vegas. DES MOINES — The Marshalltown girls’ soccer team surrendered two first-half tallies in a 2-1 loss at Des Moines North’s Grubb Stadium on Tuesday night. Vick Lumanya scored both goals for North (4-4-1), beating the back line of the Bobcat defense and dribbling in uncontested against MHS goalkeeper Sophia Valdez Chavez.
