Chapter BB hears about ‘Day of the Girl’

Twenty members of P.E.O. Chapter BB met Oct. 2 at the home of Sandy Short. Jackie Hughes served as co-hostess.

Members had the opportunity to sign up for hostess, co-hostess and program spots for the 2024-25 calendar. LaDonna Allison reported the September auction that raises funds for BB’s local scholarship was a big success. Carol Terry, Projects chair, thanked members for donating so many creative items to the auction.

President Carolyn Anderson reminded members about a new and improved website to International that will function by the first of the year. Allison informed members about member, Bobbie Olson’s book “Memories” and how her book can be purchased. Before the meeting, Heidi Drager gave a program about “Day of the Girl” that is celebrated on Oct. 11 each year. The goal is to raise awareness of issues facing girls internationally, to empower them and give them equality.

The next meeting will be Nov. 6 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Terry as hostess and Mandy Abernathy as co-hostess.
