Members of the Marshalltown Evening Lions Club presented a special token of appreciation to Hy-Vee on Tuesday morning for hosting the organization’s popcorn sales a total of 55 years between the old Drug Town location and, since 2018, the main store at 802 S. Center St.
“Several of our current Marshalltown Evening Lions members have gathered here today to thank you. Several times, Hy-Vee Marshalltown has matched funds raised on Saturdays when a specific nonprofit was named,” Evening Lions President Deb Estabrook said. “Because Hy-Vee so generously has allowed us to use their facilities to reach the citizens of Marshall County and the overwhelming support from those citizens, Marshalltown Evening Lions has been able to give over $300,000 to Marshall County nonprofit agencies. On behalf of the Marshalltown Evening Lions and the many non profits that have benefited from your generosity, I present you this plaque of our appreciation. Thank you again for all you have done.”
Accepting the award for Hy-Vee were District Store Director Casey Langseth and retired former Store Manager Ric Anderson.
