Holy Land program presented at Chapter JU

P.E.O. Chapter JU met Feb. 5 at Journey Church with 20 members present and with the Tea Committee being Diana Johns, Marilyn Downs and Dee Burt. A program was presented by Burt on her trip to The Holy Land, which occurred following the lifting of COVID related travel restrictions. It was reported that the updated International P.E.O. site is up and running and members are encouraged to sign in and actively use the site. P.E.O. Chapter LT held Oct. 2 luncheon

P.E.O. Chapter LT held its Oct. 2 luncheon meeting at the home of Carole Permar with 12 members enjoying quiche made by the hostesses Permar and Kim Sogge. Rhonda Miller, vice president, presided during the meeting. Karen Berger gave the Cottey College report which is the four-year women’s college owned by the sisterhood in Nevada, MO. The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the home of Lisa Koester, president.

Chapter BB hears about ‘Day of the Girl’

Twenty members of P.E.O. Chapter BB met Oct. 2 at the home of Sandy Short. Jackie Hughes served as co-hostess. Members had the opportunity to sign up for hostess, co-hostess and program spots for the 2024-25 calendar. LaDonna Allison reported the September auction that raises funds for BB’s local scholarship was a big success. Chapter JU visits Grimes Farm

Twelve members of Chapter JU of the P.E.O. Sisterhood attended the Oct. 2 meeting which was held at Grimes Farm Conservation Center, hosted by Patty Bowman, Ann Bresler, Janelle Carter and Julie Schlesinger. A business meeting was conducted. Following a “shared brown bag lunch,” Emily Herring gave an update on conservation projects at the marsh wetlands near Albion, the suspension bridge at Three Bridges, Timmon’s Grove and Green Castle. Next JU chapter meeting will be 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the annual fundraiser and a style show by Tre’s Teal.
