LISCOMB — The Liscomb Legion Auxiliary Unite 87 met at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Community Church in Union. Candy Wait hosted a dessert lunch following the meeting. Three ladies were present. President Sharon Hatch called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Auxiliary Preamble and a moment of silence for the POW/MIAs and deceased veterans. The Twentieth Century Club met at Fisher Community Center on Nov. 11. President Joynell Raymon called the meeting to order. Terry Gray introduced the program with two veterans–themed speakers. The first was Gloria DeBower from the Central Iowa Quilt Sew-ciety whose efforts through the Quilts of Valor program has made and distributed quilts to veterans in the Marshall County area for more than five years. The quilts are made in accordance with the standards set by the national Quilts of Valor Foundation and are always presented in person to those who have applied to receive one. ...
