• Jerry Lavelle Martin III made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge and a violation of pre-trial release charge. Joel Waters will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Dec. 28. Per-trial release is revoked and a bond of $2,000 cash is instated. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Crystal Lynn Perez made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a court proceeding/contempt of court charge. This matter will be continued until further notice.

Perez also appeared on a forgery charge, an identity theft charge and a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 27. Bond on both cases is $10,000 cash or surety.

• Ramiro Ordaz Cervantes made an initial appearance through an interpreter on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a failure to obey a traffic control device charge. Ordaz Cervantes will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2022. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Alyssa Shyann Lincoln made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Lincoln pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• Burl Grant Hall made an initial appearance on a faillure to obey a traffic control device charge and a driving under suspension charge. Hall pleaded guilty to both charges. On the traffic control device charge the fine is $130 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

Incidents

• On Thursday, a theft from a building was reported in the vicinity of North First Avenue and East State Street.

• On Thursday, a case of striking fixtures on a highway was reported in the area of East Ferner Street and South Third Avenue.

Citations

• On Friday, Ramero Ordaz Cervantes, 34, was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to obey a traffic control device.

• On Thursday, Yovani Montanez Montanez, 33, was cited for no valid driver’s license.

• On Thursday, Jacob Mark Fogt, 26, was cited for striking fixtures on a highway.

Arrests

• On Friday, Ramero Ordaz Cervantes, 34, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Thursday, Crystal Perez, 38, was arrested on a warrant and for theft-third degree-bad check, forgery and identity theft.

• On Thursday, Jerry Martin III, 26, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Sunday, Dec. 12, a car driven by Jeffrey Robert Lamp, 22, of Le Mars, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the lane from the median causing the airbags to deploy. Lamp sustained a minor injury to his left hand. Damage to the Lamp car was estimated at $7,300.
