Court — Monday

• Xavier Robert Bernal made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge. Taylor Reichardt was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2022. Bernal is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• A 16-year-old male, 15-year-old male and 14-year-old male made an initial appearance on curfew violation charges. All defendants pleaded guilty. The fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75. In lieu of the fines, the court allows 14.48 hours of community service to be completed within 60 days. The paperwork, surcharge and court costs are due at that time.

• Kristopher Raul Gardea made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2022. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the report submitted to the court.
