Woman arrested for eluding police

TIMES-REPUBLICAN

A Marshalltown woman was arrested by Marshalltown police earlier this week for eluding them after a collision which severely damaged two vehicles but no injuries to either driver. In her initial appearance Friday in Marshall County District Court, Brook Taylor Harms, 21, also answered to additional charges of leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain control, failure to obey traffic control device and failure to give information and aid after a collision. “The defendant ran a stop sign at the intersection of North 4th Street and State Street and collided with another vehicle,” Capt. Brian Batterson said. “She left the scene but was apprehended by an officer shortly thereafter.” After the investigation, Harms was taken to the Marshall County Jail. Marshall County District Court Judge Bethany Currie set bond at $4,000. The court later issued a pre-trial release order. Harms’ preliminary hearing is Aug. 1.
