Emergency Repair Business applications

The City Council has made a requirement for businesses offering repairs to homes and businesses due to damage caused by the July 19 tornado, to complete an application and register as an “Emergency Repair Business.”

There is no fee. The recently passed Ordinance requires businesses be registered State of Iowa Contractors and hold Commercial General Liability Insurance in at least $1,000,000. In addition, individuals soliciting repair work must have license cards plainly visible on anyone, who, on behalf of the contractor, are soliciting work from the City of Marshalltown or any resident in the City of Marshalltown requiring the repair of, demolition of and/or reconstruction of property in the City of Marshalltown which work is necessitated as a result of damage done by the July 19 tornado.

Completed applications may be submitted via email to clerk@marshalltown-ia.gov. Include a signed application and valid certificate of insurance. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
