Luis Gerardo Ramirez, 37, Marshalltown, was arrested by local police Monday and taken to jail on warrants charging him with offenses stemming from incidents in 2017, according to court records.

Ramirez is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of interference with official acts and possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine-first offense.

At his initial hearing Tuesday, a magistrate appointed Ramirez a public defender and ordered him held on $21,000 cash only bond.

His preliminary hearing is Oct. 11.
