How can they be pro life?
Rep. Dean Fisher’s position on local control for mask mandates is flawed. The issue of mask wearing should be one of public health, not personal choice.
In 2008, the Iowa Smokefree Air Act was passed to ensure that Iowans would not be exposed to secondhand smoke in public places. We can at least see and smell smoke — not so with the SARS-Cov-2 virus, which causes COVID-19.
The current majority in the Iowa legislature and the governor, who claim to be pro life, are hypocritical when it comes to public health regarding the coronavirus and the proliferation of guns in our state. If they were truly pro life, they would try to protect Iowans from the coronavirus and gun violence.
