Here he comes again, the old Flim Flam Man, Hawking his goods as fast as he can. Gold-dyed shoes and Bibles galore, ones he reads daily and more. Someone must pay for those dirty deeds and vile crimes, Not he, so devotees rush and pay on time. He likens himself to Mandela, Hitler, and Christ. A braggart old con man til biting the dust.
I saw two Republican related articles on the front page, last time. Congressman Naig looking of the slaughterhouse and the renovations at the old church. First off the slaughter house got 12 million dollars to expand their facility, but because they said construction cost were high, they’d use it for upgrades. Huh, gee it was earmarked for expansion not upgrades. And the brothers who hold substantial shares in the company in Brazil, are known far and wide for corruption, not to mention deforestation for their cows. I called up the Army Corps of Engineers and they said no construction ...
When many people think of Iowa, the first things that come to mind are probably corn, taco pizza, and an endless thirst for Busch Light. But as we celebrate Earth Day on Monday, April 22, it’s time to add another item to that list: the remarkable resilience and creativity of Iowans in the face of climate challenges. Last year, we watched our lush fields transform into cracked, dusty earth. As of mid-April, even after a few showers, a staggering 85% of the state is still feeling the effects of the drought. Since we began measuring temperatures, the ten warmest years on the planet ...
Oil prices skyrocketed in 2022, to record profits of $200 billion by Exxon Mobil, Shell, Chevron. My question is this, do major oil companies care more about profit making than they do about global warming and saving our planet earth from being destroyed? Time is running out.
Lincoln Valley Golf members recently got a letter from their golf course grounds Superintendent Dustin Eggers. He was telling members he just spent $15,000. On grass seed for 8 of the fairways. Now we are waiting for rain and warm weather for the seed to grow. This may take weeks to grow hoping we get rain, warm weather and cooperation from golfers to not drive carts on the fairways. This has been a rule for years to drive in the rough and use the 90 degree rule. I have to admit I have forgot and have driven down the fairway being my ball very seldom goes down the fairway. Dustin also ...
Almost 600 Iowa bodies of water are impaired according to the newest DNR water report. The main cause of river and stream pollution is bacteria, which indicates animal feces. In addition, we are the second highest state for cancer risk. Cancer is up 11% in Iowa, now 21,000 Iowans develop cancer annually. I picked up the TR to see what Governor Reynolds and Rep Feenstra are doing about our impaired water and our cancer risk. Governor Reynolds is asking the Iowa Supreme Court to reconsider her heartbeat bill and has also turned down over 22 million of federal dollars to provide $40 a ...
