Wolverines get revenge against North Tama boys

TRAER — Five players scored at least nine points apiece as a balanced effort from the GMG boys basketball team brought in a 68-65 win over North Tama in Saturday’s Iowa Star Conference South Division showdown.

Avery Bryant scored a team-leading 16 points to go with six rebounds for GMG (10-9), which led 57-48 going into the fourth quarter before staving off North Tama’s comeback attempt.

Justin Savadty added 12 points for GMG, Aaron Fleming had 11 points and six rebounds, Brayden Peterson totaled 10 points and a team-high eight boards, and Brock Baldazo added nine points for the Wolverines.

Hale Hulme finished with a game-high 22 points to pace the Redhawks (12-8), while Cael Even, Ryan McLean and Skyler Staker chalked up 11 points apiece.

North Tama won the first meeting with GMG, 81-71 in Garwin.
