CEDAR FALLS — Northern Iowa sophomore AJ Green was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week Monday after averaging 27 points per game in wins over Valparaiso and Bradley.

Green has hit 43 straight free throws, a school record, while going 5-for-10 from 3-point range in the game against Valparaiso. Green is averaging 19.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game and is shooting 93.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Panthers have improved to 16-2 on the season and received 42 votes in this week’s AP poll.
