LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Iowa State women’s basketball team rallied past Kansas in the fourth quarter of an 84-82 victory on Wednesday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

Ashley Joens accrued her 10th double-double of the season, scoring 24 points to go with 12 rebounds. Joens also became the 11th player in Cyclone history to surpass 1,500 points for her career.

Lexi Donarski had her second consecutive 20-point performance, and Kristin Scott added 18 points for Iowa State (14-8, 10-5).

The Cyclones led by four at the half, but Kansas fired out of the intermission on a mission.

Ioanna Chatzeleonti scored the Jayhawks’ first seven points of the third quarter and Kansas eventually went ahead 41-40.

Iowa State’s deficit stretched to as many as six points, but it was 66-64 entering the fourth. After a Zakiyah Franklin layup, Kansas missed its next five shots and the Cyclones went on a 9-0 run to overtake the Jayhawks for good, 73-68.

Kansas climbed back to within one possession before Joens put back an offensive rebound for an 84-80 Cyclone lead with 11 seconds remaining.

Franklin scored a game-high 26 points to lead Kansas (7-12, 3-10). Holly Kersgieter added 18 points, Ioanna Chatzeleonti had 11 and Chandler Prater 10.

Iowa State’s road swing continues with a game at Oklahoma State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
