Finn Claypool

DES MOINES — Drake redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Finn Claypool earned a spot on The Associated Press FCS All-America Second Team, the AP announced Tuesday.

Claypool, a Dowling Catholic graduate, adds All-American to his resume after claiming Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year, All-PFL First Team and Academic All-PFL Team honors.

Claypool helped Drake win the 2023 PFL Championship and clinch its first-ever appearance in the FCS playoffs behind a 57-tackle campaign that included 19 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, five forced fumbles and two pass breakups.

Claypool was also announced as an FCS Football Central Third Team All-America selection.
