Ahmed Ibrahim

Marshalltown Community College men’s basketball player Ahmed Ibrahim has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference’s Division I Athlete of the Week for the week of February 3-9.

Ibrahim, a freshman forward, played in two games this past week for MCC and averaged a double-double. In total, he collected 29 points, 24 rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.

In the first game last week, Ibrahim scored 15 points, grabbed nine boards and collected five assists as the Tigers beat conference opponent Southeastern, 69-60. In the second game, the Tigers dropped a tightly contested 79-74 game against NIACC. Ibrahim had a double-double against the Trojans with 14 points and 15 rebounds to go with three blocks.

The Tigers are scheduled to play at home this Saturday as they host Ellsworth Community College at 3 p.m. at the Student Activity Center.
