MHS swim squad sinks Mason City

The Marshalltown girls’ swimming and diving squad won its fifth-straight dual meet, mashing Mason City 115-57 on Tuesday night at the MHS pool. The Bobcats (5-2) won all 12 events, highlighted by a trio of individual events win which Marshalltown captured the top two spots. Leia Hernandez led teammate Drea Ceren to the wall to win the 200-yard freestyle. Hernandez won the race in 2 minutes, 6.02 seconds, while Ceren was second in 2:11.42. Bobcats licked in first lap at Lake Panorama

PANORA — The Marshalltown boys’ golf team ran into one of the state’s best team on one of Iowa’s toughest courses, and the combination was too much for the Bobcats. Norwalk notched six of the seven best scores in a non-conference dual on Monday at Lake Panorama National Golf Course, and the Warriors bested the Bobcats 305-363. Jaxon Howe shot an even-par round of 72 to lead Norwalk, which is ranked as the sixth-best Class 4A squad in combined adjusted scoring average in the state this fall. Hawkeye wrestling releases schedule

IOWA CITY — Head coach Tom Brands released the complete University of Iowa men’s wrestling schedule for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes will host seven duals inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season. Iowa opens the season at home facing Bellarmine on Nov. 13. The Hawkeyes also host Pittsburgh (Nov. 22) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 21). The Hawkeyes will travel to Pittsburgh (Dec. 4) for a non-conference road dual.
