COLO — Four players scored in double figures as the BCLUW girls’ basketball team scored its fifth straight win, beating Colo-NESCO 63-30 in Tuesday’s Iowa Star Conference clash.

Grace Farnsworth led the Comets (5-2, 4-0) with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four assists and four steals. Klayre Gallentine tallied 15 points powered by three 3-pointers, while Brinna Benson and Savannah Moeller added 10 points apiece.

Kuper leads Cougars past East Marshall girls

ACKLEY — Josie Kuper scored a game-high 22 points to lead AGWSR past the East Marshall girls’ basketball team, 45-22, in Tuesday’s NICL West Division matchup.

Kuper shot 11-of-14 from the field and added 11 rebounds for a double-double for the Cougars (5-2, 1-1). Trevyn Smith chipped in with 11 points and Piper Smith had eight points off the bench.

Ashtyn Wheater led East Marshall (2-6, 0-2) with seven points. The Mustangs shot 18.2 percent (8-for-44) from the field in suffering their fourth consecutive defeat.

MBC hosting youth basketball camp during holiday

The Marshalltown Basketball Club is hosting a Winter Break Basketball Camp on Saturday, Dec. 28, for boys and girls in grades 1-6.

The camp will be held at the Marshalltown High School auxiliary gymnasium from 9-11 a.m. and will be filled with a variety of fun skill-development games, competitions and live scrimmages.
