Film Series for Adults continues June 22 at the library

The film series for adults continues at 2 p.m. on June 22 in the Marshalltown Public Library’s community meeting rooms.

The library movie license forbids the use of film titles in publicity; therefore, the staff invites the public to play the movie guessing game.

The June film is a 1962 classic based on Harper Lee’s best-selling novel. Gregory Peck won a Best Actor Oscar as a widowed, morally upright lawyer defending a black man accused of assaulting a white woman in 1930s Alabama. Meanwhile, his two young children become involved in a mystery involving the town pariah.

Join film critic, Tom LaVille, for a discussion after the movie, as well as free popcorn and lemonade. This event is free and open to the public, aged 18 and over. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Marshalltown Public Library.

Starting at $4.75/week.
