Gaffney will speak at Pachyderm Herd on Friday

The Marshall County Pachyderm Forum will meet at noon on June 19 at Legends American Grill. The speaker will be Jordan Gaffney, Marshall County Attorney, who is seeking re-election to that position since being appointed to fill a vacancy in 2021 and elected to a full term in 2022.

Gaffney was recently recognized for more than 15 years of service to the county since graduating with honors from Drake University Law School in 2010 and beginning his career prosecuting simple misdemeanors in the Marshall County Attorney’s Office. He has since gained experience in prosecuting misdemeanors, felonies, OWI docket, drug offenses, drug court and several high profile murder cases. Gaffney has served on the Iowa County Attorney’s Board of Directors. He and his family live in Marshalltown. Gaffney will discuss and answer questions on the role of the office, challenges and changes due to technology and resources.

Forums are open to all persons, who may arrive after 11 a.m. for informal discussion and lunch.

The Republican Central Committee will meet June 26 with no meeting on July 3 due to the July 4th Holiday. The next Pachyderm Forum will be at the Marshall County Fair’s Ag Day in the Big Top Tent on July 10.
