Marshalltown Parks and Recreation announces new ‘Rooted: A Home & Garden Series’

Marshalltown Parks and Recreation is excited to introduce Rooted: A Home & Garden Series, a new collection of classes designed to bring community members together to learn, create and get inspired. The series will feature a mix of hands-on activities and educational opportunities focused on gifts, gardening, trees and landscaping. GriefShare program offered to the local community

Community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend are invited to join the GriefShare program held at New Hope Christian Church, 3901 S. Center St., Marshalltown, beginning Sept. 8. There will be two different meeting times offered each Tuesday, to allow for more participants to attend. There will be an afternoon session offered from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also an evening session from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both will be held in Classroom 10-12 (Southeast entrance/Door #3, take hall to the left, classroom is on the left). Road Closures

The Marshall County Road Department has closed the 1500 mile of Underwood Avenue to thru traffic for a culvert replacement and Jessup Avenue from E-63 to 265th Street for work on regrading the intersection from 8 a.m. on Sept. 1 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 2.
