Duties of county supervisors program at Chapter MJ

The regular meeting of Chapter MJ was held on Monday at the home of Bonnie Lowry. Janice Ott served as co-hostess. Plans were made for the distribution of proceeds from the October Autumn Silent Auction Fundraiser to various P.E.O. projects. Volunteers from the chapter signed up to serve as hostesses in the hospitality room at the May 2020 P.E.O. State Convention in Des Moines. Chapter NU hears from Marshall County Auditor

Nan Benson, Marshall County auditor and recorder and commissioner of elections, spoke on Monday at P.E.O. Chapter NU. Her program about her career duties and the tornado damage to the courthouse and its restoration was very interesting and informative.

Rotary hears about future plans for UnityPoint

Rotarians enjoyed Kay Beach at the keys while partaking lunch at the Black Box Theatre for the Oct. 29 meeting. Beach filled in for a recovering Arlene Selby. Bonnie Lowery presided over the induction of the club’s newest member, Kristie Fisher, chancellor of Iowa Valley Community College District. Chapter BB initiates new member

P.E.O. Chapter BB gathered on Monday at the Mowry Irvine Mansion at 1 p.m. The hostess, Michelle Roseburrough along with the tea committee of Sue Cope and Sandy Short served a delightful fall dessert. The meeting was opened by President Sylvia Lowrance who led the ceremony of initiation for Barbara Lorenzo. Following the meeting LaDonna Allison and Lowrance led a review of the book “Tending Roses” by Lisa Wingate. The story is a touching tale that reminds us to stop and smell the roses.
