Mark Wuest, MHS gymnast, pulled down four first place finishes, one second place finish and won the all-around competition to lead MHS to a 95.45-91.75 win over Linn-Mar in its first dual of the season.

The West Marshall Trojans blanked Colo-NESCO 28-0 as Craig Goecke led the Trojans carrying 21 times for 108 yards while Jesse Nason rushed for 61 yards and led defensively with 11 tackles.

Mark Rohde captured first place and a prize of $2,000 as he won the Arrowhead Pro-Am Golf Tournament in Rapid City, S.D.

The Bobcat girls swim team ran away with the Bobcat Invite scoring 435 points to out-distance second place Ottumwa at 278 as Lesa Reynolds captured the diving with 340.6 points.

The MHS Marching Band major and majorettes were: Tim DeVenney, Traci Schwartz, Jill McKibben, Linda Duke, Judy Mueller, Shelly Kratoska, Kelli Albright, Claudia Rank, Michelle Wood, Julie Wilkie and Brenda Van Maanen.

The BCLUW volleyball squad defeated Aplington-Parkersburg and Allison-Bristow in the best of three matches as Shannon Kadner hammered 33 kills and Deanna Beeghly served 16-for-16 with three aces and Cherilyn Kruse went 38-for-39 for five aces.

MHS cross country boys Todd Arnold, Stu Atha, Brian Trickey and Mark McCright finished 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Dana Schaudt finished seventh as they posted a 17-40 victory over Cedar Rapids Jefferson.

The Green Mountain softball team whipped SEMCO in five innings 12-2 as Laurie Dawson and Lori Petermeier had two hits each and Petermeier drove in two runs.
