Sigma Master holds April luncheon

Sigma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi met for lunch on April 11 with eight members, two guests present and one absent at Pizza Ranch.

President Diane Hobson opened the meeting thanking Barb Noid for hosting. Roll call was taken with the question: Do you plant a garden along with share a memory of Founder’s Day? Minutes of the March meeting were read and approved. Noid gave the treasurer’s report with late dues paid.

Alice Nicholson shared old business as she and Dorothy Perry surprised Virginia Bumsted with International news at the nursing home. The Founder’s Award was presented for Congratulations of Sixty Years of BEQ commitment, along with a yellow rose. Her son Gary was present to enjoy the news. A “60” year pin will be presented with BEQ sisters attending.

Health reports were given and a decision was made to send the Members at Large a “thinking of you” card.

Four State Service Projects were read and Court Appointed Special Advocates was voted as the choice for the 2023-24 year. A Des Moines chapter presented and will provide funds for the entire state with a win.

Nicholson read the Founder’s Day letter from Laura Wingfield with our new theme, “Watch ‘BEQ’ Grow & Bloom.”

The meeting closed as Nicholson announced the next meeting May 9 at Legends American Grill.
