The Marshalltown Federation of Women’s Club held its monthly meeting at the Binford House on Sept. 11. Pete Grady provided an update on his continued work cataloging the historical records stored at the Binford House. The Federation of Women’s Club organized the State Convention of Librarians that was held at the Marshalltown Tallcorn in the 1910’s. Upcoming events include the September Monday lunches, Monthly Passport dinners, Holiday Stroll and a December Christmas Tea.

The May 20 meeting of the VFW Auxiliary Unit 839 was held at the Post Home with 10 members in attendance. Theresa Shepherd opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the opening ceremonies. Chaplain Donna Mitchem led the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by Patriotic Instructor Kay Bell. Treasurer Deb Miller gave the treasurer report.
