VFW Auxiliary Post 839 makes holiday plans

The October 2021 general membership meeting of the VFW Auxiliary Post 839 met at the post home and opened at 6:37 p.m. on Oct. 21. Betty Needs, president, led opening ceremonies according to Ritual. Five officers and two members answered roll call. Special guest Kathy McDonald, Iowa Third District VFW Auxiliary president was also in attendance. Liscomb Legion Auxiliary plans for Veterans Day

LISCOMB — The Liscomb Legion Auxiliary Unit 87 met 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 at the Union Library with four members present. President Sharon Hatch called the meeting to order. Chaplain Dorothy Sorensen gave devotions followed by a moment of silence for MIA/POWs and deceased veterans. The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble. Sigma Master hosts November meeting

Sigma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi met on Nov. 9 at Mama DiGrados Pizza and Pasta for lunch with eight members and two guests. President Diane Hobson opened the meeting thanking Elaine Fiscus for hosting. P.E.O. Chapter LT met at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Marshalltown Public Library with Rhonda Miller, president, presiding with 13 members present. They made plans for the 2022 officers, committees and meetings responsibilities. Plans were also made to host the social time at the 1 p.m., Dec. 6 meeting, for the Tuesday Musical Concert with the other chapters at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.
