The regular monthly meeting of P.E.O. Chapter MJ was held on Nov. 1. Members met at Lillie Mae Chocolates on 13th Street in Marshalltown where owner, Aimee Deimerly-Schneider, told of the history of the business which began in 1939. She and her husband, Tom, purchased it 19 years ago and recently moved the business to the 13th Street location. A review of the various hand-made candies plus market strategies were shared by Deimerly-Schneider. The business has a goal of making people happy. American Legion Auxiliary October business meeting

The meeting of the Unit 46 American Legion Auxiliary was called to order by President Debra Miller at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12. Opening prayer was given by Chaplin Dorothy Hellberg. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary was recited by the members. Eighteen members were in attendance plus one via goggle meet. Liscomb American Legion to celebrate Veterans Day

LISCOMB — The Harry E. Powers Post #87 will celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11. The program will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the Liscomb Community Building. Patriotic music will be provided by Ron Galloway, Phil Gould and Ralph Norman. Local veterans will share their “stories” of service in the military. Refreshments will be served by the Liscomb American Legion Auxiliary. The public is invited to attend.

Munson awarded Quilit of Valor
