Marshalltown American Legion Auxiliary Unit 46 holds meeting

The ALA May 11, 2021 meeting was opened by Deb Miller, President at 6:10 P.M at the American Legion Post 46 in the lower level. Opening Prayer was given by Dorothy Hellberg, Chaplain. Following the prayer Dorothy Hellberg led the group in a Memorial to the 10 Unit members who passed away in the last year. The Harold McBroom Laurel American Legion Auxiliary #635 met at the Post Home with four members present. The opening prayer was given. Conrad American Legion Auxiliary Unit #681 met May 17 at the Legion Hall. The meeting was called to order by President Sue Kitzman with 31 members, officers and guests present. The colors were advanced by Jody Wanken and Legion Post Commander Dan Shine. Kitzman led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence in honor of POW’s, MIA’s and deceased veterans, prayer and reciting in unison the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary. CCW holds first meeting since September

A Council of Catholic Women St. Francis of Assisi Parish (CCW) May meeting was held May 6 in St. Mary’s church hall. Prior to the start of the meeting, ladies met outside with Lois Polt leading members in the Litany of Blessing of St. Mary and 34 ladies were present. A welcome was given by Polt. Due to COVID, the group had not met since September 2020 when an outdoor meeting was held. Secretary minutes and the treasurer report were read.
