P.E.O. Chapter LT Lavish Taste fundraising silent auction

P.E.O. Chapter LT had a fundraising silent auction, Lavish Taste, on Monday at Iowa River Hospice Meeting Room. Dorien Putman, chairman of ways and means committee, directed the event of member donated items of food, handmade items, home decorative articles and miscellaneous items that the members bid on. The money raised will be used for P.E.O. projects given to women for post high school education in the U.S. and Canada for Scholar Awards, STAR Scholarship, Program for Continuing Education, International Peace Scholarship, Educational Loan Fund and Cottey College in Nevada, Mo. ...

Chapter BB initiates new member

P.E.O. Chapter BB gathered on Monday at the Mowry Irvine Mansion at 1 p.m. The hostess, Michelle Roseburrough along with the tea committee of Sue Cope and Sandy Short served a delightful fall dessert. The meeting was opened by President Sylvia Lowrance who led the ceremony of initiation for Barbara Lorenzo. Following the meeting LaDonna Allison and Lowrance led a review of the book “Tending Roses” by Lisa Wingate. The story is a touching tale that reminds us to stop and smell the roses. The Marshall County Retired School Personnel Association met Oct. 21 at the Fisher Community Center. The program “Iowa Culture and History” was presented by Jessica Rundlett from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.
