Kevin Kyle Kroger, 27, Marshalltown, was arrested by Marshalltown police Wednesday and taken to jail charged with one count of burglary second degree, a Class C felony, and eight counts of burglary third degree, all Class D felonies.

Kroeger entered eight unoccupied homes and garages without permission from the owners in October and November according to court records.

At his initial appearance Friday, a magistrate judge appointed Kroeger a public defender and ordered him held on a $20,000 cash only bond.

His preliminary hearing is Nov. 27.

Kroeger was arrested Oct. 19 and taken to jail by the MPD on theft third degree charges for using a stolen credit card at a Marshalltown business.

Kroeger was also convicted of theft in the third degree in Marshall County on Aug. 13 and had been convicted of theft fourth degree in Tama County on Dec. 19, 2012, along with two other Marshall County cases.
