Angela Todd Davis, 39, of Marshalltown was arrested by local police and taken to jail on Tuesday on assault causing bodily injury charges.

She is accused of punching the victim in the face multiple times during an altercation early Tuesday morning in the 400 block of West Nevada Street, according to a criminal complaint.

Capt. Brian Batterson of the Marshalltown Police Department said the victim suffered minor injuries which did not require treatment. Lucas and victim had been arguing leading up to the incident.

At Davis’ initial appearance Tuesday, a magistrate judge issued a no contact order against Davis protecting the victim. The magistrate also appointed Davis a public defender. The magistrate also ordered Davis released on her own recognizance.

Her preliminary hearing is Dec. 4.
