Thankful for Marshall County support

I appreciate my supporters in the race to fill Jeff Edler’s seat in the Iowa Senate. I’m disappointed in the results, but I will continue to push for a conservative agenda and assist constituents as Senator Sinclair’s chief of staff. Marshalltown Community Band

If you have not attended the Marshalltown Community Band performances, you are missing out on an enjoyable Summer evening on 13th Street. Bring a blanket or camp chairs and enjoy lovely summer evenings with your friends and neighbors. Their Spring/Summer season starts Thursday, June 6 and continues on Thursdays thru July 25. The performance starts at 7:00pm. Pick up delicious treats at Lillie Mae’s or bring your own. Parking at West End parking lot, Summit Street & North 14th Street or nearby side streets. I would like to take this opportunity to endorse Gannon Hendrick as the Republican candidate for the Iowa Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jeff Edler. I am endorsing Gannon for a number of reasons, including the fact that he has been working for Senate President Amy Sinclair for a number of years and is intimately familiar with all the legislation that is being considered. County offices should not promote candidates

I have received a letter from Jarret P. Heil on Thursday May 30, 2024 asking my household to consider voting for a candidate he is supporting. Prior to opening the letter, the envelope looked like an official county business letter. I have no problem with Mr. Heil personally supporting a candidate, but the envelope’s return address was from Jarret Heil, Marshall County Supervisor. I truly believe no elected official should in any way use their office to promote a candidate. This may not be legal as stated in the Iowa State Ethics Commission section 23[b][2].

RACOM an example of Marshalltown’s greatness

On May 21-23, the Iowa Police Chiefs Association held their annual education conference in Coralville, Iowa. Front and center supporting this conference was RACOM. RACOM is an iconic local company that everyone in Marshalltown is very familiar with (if you aren’t, check them out). RACOM’s influence and leadership extends far beyond the Marshalltown city limits. They have long supported public safety throughout Iowa and throughout the country. RACOM supports public safety like few other companies I know. We need to be focused

Our family plans a lot of gatherings. We are a togetherness-group so events are happening all the time. In one meeting recently, our three year-old great-grandson had received gifts of coins and bills. He wasn’t interested in how much they totaled, it was enough for him just to count them, separately. If he got a dollar it was just one unit; if he got a quarter it was just one. He had counted up to forty but he lost his focus when the adults spoke over him.
