IOWA CITY — University of Iowa defensive end A.J. Epenesa was named as the Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Epenesa totaled 3.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a quarterback pressure in Iowa’s 23-19 upset win over previously undefeated No. 7 Minnesota.

The Glen Carbon, Ill., native leads the Hawkeyes with seven sacks and nine quarterback pressures.

Iowa will host Illinois for its final home game of the season on Saturday with kickoff set for 11 a.m.
