MHS bowlers improve to 2-0, sweep aside Hoover

DES MOINES — The Marshalltown High School bowling teams both improved to 2-0 with decisive Iowa Alliance Conference wins over Des Moines Hoover on Tuesday at Gameday Lanes.
The Bobcat girls posted a convincing 2,165-1,343 victory over the host Huskies. MHS senior Madison Pickett posted the high series for her career, rolling a 207-195–402 to lead all players. Fellow senior Autumn Thompson also rolled her top series with a 189-178–367. Sydney May finished with a 250 series, Katelyn Schwartz added a 229 and Devin Petersen was close behind with her 223. Kenedy Lammert closed out the Bobcat lineup with her 167.
The Marshalltown boys posted a comfortable win over Hoover, 2,530-2,221. Aaron Ratte totaled a 380 to lead the Bobcats with games of 174 and 216.
Aiden Cowan finished with his best score yet, rolling 180-199–379, and Javi Nunez rolled a consistent pair of games for a 161-166–327. Jayden Beichley posted a 152-156–308, and Damon Borton closed out the Bobcats’ scoring with a 125-131–256. Quintin Stanton also rolled a 101-138–239 for MHS.
