The West Marshall girls finished as runners-up in the Class 2A state golf tournament at American Legion Memorial Golf Course in Marshalltown on Friday.

The Trojans scored a 731 total over the two-day tournament, finishing eight strokes behind champions Roland-Story. West Marshall shot 369 on day one, and 362 on day two.

Allie Pfantz led the way for West Marshall as an individual medalist with an eighth-place finish. Pfantz shot a 173 total, trimming down from a 90 in round one to an 83 in round two.

Ella Meyer followed with a 178 to finish 14th overall. Lauren Solberg and Avery Stanley added a 190 and 193, respectively. Natalie Nichols contributed a 206 and Madison Tarbell shot 105 as the fifth scorer on Friday, subbing in for Madeline Karsjen who shot 104 on Thursday.

Chloe Bolte of Sumner-Fredericksburg won the individual title with a 152, shooting 75 on Thursday and 77 on Friday.

Meyer, Karsjen, Solberg and Tarbell were the seniors, of the seven golfers who took on the Marshalltown course during the tournament.
