Caitlin Clark

IOWA CITY — University of Iowa senior guard Caitlin Clark was named to the Naismith National Player of the Year Midseason Team on Tuesday. Clark was the recipient of the same award last year.

The Naismith Award is presented annually to the most outstanding men’s and women’s basketball player who achieves tremendous on-court success.

Clark has scored 3,520 points in her career and is eight away for breaking the NCAA all-time scoring record. She recently become the sixth women’s college basketball player to record 1,000 assists.

The West Des Moines native is the only player in the country with at least 800 points, 175 assists and 150 rebounds this season.
