Since June 2025, The Write Club, a group for established and aspiring writers, teens through adult, has met monthly for a mix of discussion, sharing writing samples, camaraderie and a lecture on a particular writing topic. Sixth St., owned by Connie Etter, that is enjoyed by many as they drive on or walk by the busy street. She and her husband Brad moved here in 2002 and have personalized and maintained the pond/waterfall feature from the former owners. DES MOINES — Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig recently announced that the Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program Board has approved more than $2 million in cost-share grants for 38 E15 and biodiesel infrastructure projects across Iowa. Marshall Brew Oil LLC in Marshalltown is the recipient of $75,000 for a retail E15 site and $50,000 for a retail biodiesel site. The City of Marshalltown is seeking volunteer applicants for an opening on the Plan and Zoning Commission, term ending March 31, 2028. The City’s Plan & Zoning Commission consists of seven members who must be residents of Marshalltown. Members also must have some qualifications in terms of knowledge or experience related to planning and zoning. A regular term is for a period of five years.
