Chapter JU-LT hears CAPS program

Eighteen members of new Chapter JU-LT met on Feb. 3 at the Marshalltown Public Library. Prior to the business meeting, Emma Michels, director of community engagement for CAPS (Child, Adolescent & Parent Support) presented a program on health education.  Members enjoyed refreshments at this time provided by hostesses Karen Bursley, Rhonda Miller and Bonnie Herbold. Following the program, President Ann Isgrig ran the business meeting. ALA Unit 46 holds February meeting

Meeting was called to order at 6:09 p.m. by Deb Miller followed by the opening prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, standing in silence and the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary. In attendance were 18 members. Barb Blake, the McClain family and the McCready family were all mentioned in the sick call. Happy birthday was sung to two members in attendance. Beta Sigma Phi holds Valentine’s meeting

Beta Sigma Phi, Sigma Master chapter met for lunch at El Portal on Feb. 11. Nine members and one guest answered roll call question: “What was your favorite memory of Valentines Day?” President Dorothy Perry thanked Diane Hobson for hosting the day. Alice Nicholson read the minutes of the January meeting with no corrections, and Barb Noid gave the Treasurer’s report with no change also. Business meeting held by VFW Auxiliary

The VFW Auxiliary Unit 839 held the January meeting on Jan. 28. Seven members were in attendance. President Theresa Shepherd opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the opening ceremonies. Opening praying was led by chaplain Donna Mitchem. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by Patriotic Instructor Kay Bell. Committee reports were as follows. Carol Ewalt reported she had sent 2,460 stamps to Stamps for the Wounded. She also had sent two veteran’s Birthday cards at Iowa Veterans Home. Diane Welch reported she had cut out 893 coupons to give to the American Auxiliary for veterans. ...

P.E.O. Chapters JU & LT merge

The P.E.O. Members of Chapter JU and LT have merged into Chapter JU-LT with 48 members on Monday, January 20, 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Members attended from Marshalltown Chapters BB, MJ, and NU and State Center CF who are in the Marshalltown Reciprocity Group. P.E.O. members from out of town were Iowa P.E.O. State Officers who helped organize the merger since August 2024 also attended. Rachel Buresh, Decorah, Chapter GO, Iowa P.E.O.
