It’s almost time for early voting here in Iowa. If you have been distressed by the lack of interest in public opinion evidenced by legislative actions the past several sessions, you can take action! The majority of us do not want a private school voucher program with no income limits, no accountability, and funding at the public-school systems’ expense. Tour Miller before voting

I encourage the voters of the Marshalltown Community School District to tour Miller Middle School before the bond issue vote on the November ballot. As I took the tour, there were many signs of the need for a redesigned and reimagined facility to provide a safe, effective, efficient, and inviting school. We as residents and voters can invest in a facility that encourages students and staff to achieve high levels of success. Tours are on Wednesdays at noon and at 5 p.m.

Marshalltown NEAT update

Marshalltown has come a long way since the devastation caused by the tornado and derecho. Many areas have been completely rebuilt, and while crisis funding provided some of the initial seed money to get things started, it is the people of Marshalltown who have truly stepped up.
