Sigma Master Chapter celebrates Mother’s Day

Sigma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi met for Mother’s Day salad luncheon at the home of Jan Keller with her mother, Louise Powers hosting on Tuesday. Table was decorated with a rose vase surrounded with chocolate for each member. The meeting opened with Keller reading a Memorial Tribute for sister Erma Fields who passed away in March.

Roll call was taken with question: “What was your favorite salad?” as 10 members, one guest and Texas resident Mary McCoy, sister of Anne Fiscus were present. Four members were absent. Minutes of the last meeting was read and financial report was given, indicating dues will be due in September.

Suggestions were made for the Memorial monies given on behalf of Fields. Alice Nicholson and Bonnie Speas will check with the Friends of the Library as to what might be appropriate to donate, and Keller will check with Emerson-Fisher, where she worked for 42 years for planting a tree.

A Thank You was read from Jerrod Leffler, MCBD Board Member for the donation to the Downtown Flower Basket Program.

Installation of Officers was also conducted with Keller as president, Speas as vice president, Nicholson as recording secretary and treasurer and Caralee Hutchens as corresponding secretary for the 2017-18. Dorothy Perry has accepted the duty of caller.

On June 29, the group will be going to Gathering Place @ Pines, Iowa Falls, and July 27 it plans to eat at the Chop House, Traer. August is the Beginning Day with the chapter assisting Alpha Gamma and Xi Delta Chi.
