Sigma Master Chapter hosts January meeting

Sigma Master Chapter met at Pizza Ranch on Jan. 28 with 11 members and two guests present. Five members were absent. Caralee Hutchens opened the meeting thanking Elaine Fiscus and her daughter Jackie Fiscus, a guest, for hosting as we were all presented with a lottery ticket and one winner. Emergency Food Box holds quarterly meeting

The Emergency Food Box held its first quarterly meeting on Jan. 16 at the Marshalltown Public Library. Chair Gary Fulton introduced two new board members Meg Sponseller and Rev. Jeff Kodis. They join board members; Matt Broshar, Julie Brouwer, Gary Bryant, Janet Collison, John Eich, Fulton, Ed Jackson, Mary Jefferson, LeRoy Jero, Rose Ann Jero, Leon Lamer, Bob Maile, Edith Podhajsky, Eldon Schneider, Rev. Lioness learn about the Evening Lions’ 50th anniversary

The Marshalltown Lioness held its Jan. 13 meeting at the First United Church of Christ beginning with a meal furnished by four Lioness. The prayer before the meal was led by Edith Podhajsky. Dessa Hattenfield, president, presided at the meeting. Correspondence was read from UnityPoint Hospital asking for volunteer greeters. New year begins for 100 Women Who Care

February begins the ninth year of 100 Women Who Care — Marshalltown meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Calvin Rockett’s upper level. This women’s philanthropic organization started in 2012 with its first donation to the Animal Rescue League and has not stopped meeting three times a year to consider more charities and worthwhile projects needing contributions. New members are always invited to join and the organization continues to lend a monetary hand to the needs in the community.
