For the Love of Binford Event is at dinner beginning with a social hour with charcuterie and sparkling cider at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 at the house, 110 N. Second Ave., Marshalltown. Holiday breakfast for Prairieville Ladies

Prairieville Ladies Club met for a holiday breakfast at the Christmas decorated Binford House. Hostesses were Karen Oaks, Jeanie Burt and Alyce Quastad. President Renie Loney presided at the business meeting. Thirteen members and one guest, Sally Ramirez, answered roll call, “What was a strict rule you had to follow growing up?” Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Rotary hears about Iowa Caucus process

The Marshalltown Rotary club greeted a new calendar year with its Tuesday luncheon at the Orpheum Black Box Theater. Bobby Shomo led with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance while January birthday and membership anniversaries were recognized by John Fink. A trio of Rotarians got some applause during the news segment presented by Todd Steinkamp. United Way Executive Nancy Steveson and campaign chairs Dennis Drager and Theron Schutte were instrumental in achieving the United Way fundraising goal this year. Chapter DA wraps up nut project

Chapter DA of the National TTT Society met Monday at the Marshalltown Library. Refreshments were served by Sharon Brimmer and Jean Miller. Members enjoyed a social time. President Erma Meyer called the business meeting to order. The secretary’s reports from November and December were read and approved. The treasurer gave her report and it will be filed for audit. A thank you note was from St. Francis of Assisi Social Justice Committee thanking the chapter for the donations of nuts and fruits for the families on the churches giving tree at Christmas time.
