The St. Patrick Study Club of St. Francis of Assisi Parish met on May 24 at the home of Karen Giarratano with seven members present. A salad luncheon was enjoyed prior to a short business meeting at which President Giarratano presided. Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. It was decided that a focus for the upcoming year would be looking for opportunities to do random acts of kindness. Plans were made for the year starting in September. It was decided to continue to meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month September thru May.
The May 2023 general membership meeting of the VFW Auxiliary Post 839 met at the post home on May 16. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Liz Polkiewicz, followed by the Opening Ceremonies according to the Ritual. There were 12 members present, of whom 11 were officers. There were no guests and no applications for new members. Chaplain Donna Mitchem gave the Opening Prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, led by Patriotic Instructor Kay Bell.
