• Brandon Edward Becker made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood-causing bodily injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 18. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Kerri Lee Underhill made an initial appearance on a warrant charging her with parole violation and on an interference with official acts-displaying a dangerous weapon charge. Frank Kopcinski is appointed as counsel on the parole violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the interference charge. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the parole board and an administrative court judge. The preliminary hearing on the interference charge is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 18. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety on the interference charge and Underhill is being held without bond on the parole violation.

• Shawna Renae Cox, of Dillon, made an initial appearance on an operation without consent charge and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 26. Cox is released on her promise to appear.

• Jesse Theodore Little made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Jesse James Shockley made an initial appearance on an accessory to a misdemeanor charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 in Magistrate Court. Shockley was released on his promise to appear.

• Mark Nathan Hoover made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 26. The court required a DNA sample be provided. Hoover is released on his promise to appear.

• Micheal Eugene Buchanan, of Gilman, made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 26. Buchanan is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Elaina Marie Rivera Martinez, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 26. Rivera Martinez is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• William Dale Curley, of Whitten, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge and a trespass charge. Curley pleaded not guilty. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 in Magistrate Court.

• Presley Cheyanna Victor Daggett made an initial appearance on a no proof of vaccination charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a surcharge of $22.75 and court costs of $60 for a total of $147.75, due in 30 days. Daggett is ordered to show proof of vaccination to the County Attorney’s Office within 30 days.

• Alexis Valdez made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge. The case was dismissed when proof of insurance was produced with court costs of $60 assessed.
