• Andrea J. Pirtle made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood charge, a child endangerment charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. Pirtle is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by the end of work on Friday to sign a pre-trial release agreement. Two no-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.

• James L. Coughenour made an initial appearance on a burglary-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 30. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Alan E. Eller made an initial appearance on a pre-trial release violation charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on July 13 with a jury trial at 9 a.m. on July 19. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Tiatwas J. Waites, of Omaha, Neb., made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• On Wednesday, a burglary of an unoccupied motor vehicle was reported at the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Wednesday, Tyson Thompson, 36, was arrested for assault use/display of weapon, domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense, carrying weapons, possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Wednesday, Alan Eller, 69, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Daniel Scates, 27, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Andrea Pirtle, 26, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood-strangulation, child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sunday, a case of vandalism to property was reported in the town of Le Grand with damage valued between $500 – $1,000.
