Court — Tuesday

• Jose Luis Ramirez Cardena made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash.

• Kathryn Rose Loutsch made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. The public defender’s office will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Dec. 26. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Byron Lloyd Barker made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing charge. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel. The sentencing hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Jaylen Celia Sharee Padilla made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a contempt hearing charge and a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 28. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. The pre-trial conference is rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2019, with the jury trial rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 17. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Athena Caitlyn Padilla made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for plea hearing charge. The public defender’s office will continue as counsel. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Demarcus Tyreece Stokes, of Cedar Rapids, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear to sign a written guilty plea charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The plea hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Shaddare Jammal Watkins made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Jennifer Frese will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

Arrests

• On Monday, Steven Edward Graves, 26, was arrested for public intoxication and public consumption of alcohol.

• On Monday, Shaddare Jammal Watkins, 26, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Jaylen Celia Sharee Padilla, 25, was arrested on two warrants.

• On Monday, Demarcus Tyreece Stokes, 19, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Dec. 1, a car driven by Alma Cecili Hernandez Vazquez, 26, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Center Street when she stopped suddenly resulting in a vehicle driven by Juana Lynn Ramirez, 38, of Eldora, colliding with the rear of her car. No injuries were reported. Ramirez was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Ramirez vehicle was estimated at $500 while the Hernandez Vazquez car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Dec. 11, a car driven by Dillon Robert Schultz, 27, of Marshalltown, was driving south on Fourth Street when the driver failed to stop at the intersection with West State Street resulting in a collision with a car driven by Gerardo Sanchez, 57, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Schultz was cited for driving under suspension, failure to obey a stop sign, no insurance-accident and operation without registration. Damage to the Schultz car was estimated at $3,000 while the Sanchez car received an estimated $7,000 in damage.

• On Monday, Brianna Dean, 18, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-first offense.

• On Monday, Byron Barker, 31, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Lindsey Smith, 41, was arrested for interference with official acts and theft-third degree.

• On Monday, Jennyfer Berg, 39, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Monday, Ivan Rodriguez Jimenez, 27, was arrested for harassment-first degree and on a warrant.

• On Monday, Kathryn Loutsch, 39, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.
