Friday

• Brandon J. Bailey made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a jury trial. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 11 and the trial is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 17. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

• Shannon Patrick Gotto made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge from Butler County. Gotto pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 21. Gotto is released on his promise to appear. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party from Marshall County.

• Natasha Skye Kelderman made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 3. Kelderman is released on her promise to appear.

• Jessica Marie Langmaid made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. Langmaid pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Colton Muenzenmeyer made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Muenzenmeyer pleaded not guilty and the pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• Ruby Lee Monroe Crisp made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Crisp pleaded not guilty and the pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• Jimmy Miller made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a failure to carry SR-22 insurance charge, a no insurance charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Miller pleaded not guilty and the pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 in Magistrate Court.

• Rocky Dean Trujillo made an initial appearance on a possession of alcohol under the legal age limit charge and a public intoxication charge. Trujillo pleaded guilty to both charges. On the possession of alcohol charge the fine is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The fine on the public intoxication charge is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Thursday, a burglary and theft valued between $1,000-$10,000 was reported in the 400 block of North Third Street.

Citations

• On Friday, Isaac Anthony Alvarado, 18, was cited for speeding and no insurance.

Arrests

• On Friday, Brandon Bailey, 36, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Isaac Alvarado, 18, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Friday, Shannon P. Gotto, 45, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday, Rocky Trujillo, 18, was arrested for possession of alcohol under the legal age limit and public intoxication.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a pickup driven by Isaiah Rae Walters, 36, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Ninth Street when it collided with the rear of a pickup driven by Donald Edward Morrison, 46, which had slowed down. No injuries were reported. Walters was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Morrison pickup was estimated at $600 while the Walters pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Thursday, a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Marshalltown was southbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Autumn Rae Johnson, 25, of Marshalltown, which had stopped for a left turning vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $1,500 while the Johnson vehicle received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Thursday, a car driven by Michael Wayne Foreman, 69, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on East Anson Street when it entered the intersection with South Third Avenue on a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male from Marshalltown. Foreman and the juvenile were transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown with possible injuries. Foreman was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Foreman car was estimated at $15,000 while the juvenile’s vehicle received an estimated $7,500 in damage.

Incidents

• On Thursday, damage to property in an act of vandalism was reported in Gilman.

• On Thursday, two motor vehicles were reported burglarized in Marshall County.

Arrests

• On Thursday, David Landis, 37, was arrested for violation of probation.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Saturday, Gabriel Aebersold, 24, of Steamboat Rock, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with operating while intoxicated-third offense, operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, driving while revoked and operating a motor vehicle without interlock device. Aebersold posted bond and was released.

• On Saturday, Lane Kannegieter, 39, of Dike, was arrested in Parkersburg and charged with domestic abuse assault. Kannegieter was released on his promise to appear.

• On Thursday, Regina Welscher, 48, of Grundy Center, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with domestic abuse assault, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. Welscher is being held in lieu of bond.

• On Monday, Jennifer Parks, 38, of Garwin, was arrested in the Sheriff’s Office and charged with theft-fourth degree. Parks was released on her promise to appear.

Accidents

• On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Ronald Flater, 71, of Grundy Center, was southbound on M Avenue south of Highway 175 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Flater vehicle was estimated at $6,000.

• On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Jemal Killingsworth, 27, of Dubuque, was southbound on F Avenue south of 160th Street when the driver was unable to negotiate a curve, entered the east ditch and came to rest after striking the side of the ditch. Killingsworth sustained minor injuries. Killingsworth was cited for driving under suspension, no insurance, failure to maintain control and no registration. Damage to the Killingsworth vehicle was estimated at $6,000.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Hadley Weifenbach, 33, of Cedar Falls, was northbound on Grundy Road south of 220th Street when the driver reached for his cell phone, lost control and entered the west ditch where it overturned. No injuries were reported. Weifenbach was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Weifenbach vehicle was estimated $25,000.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Charlene Manlick, 80, of Reinbeck, was westbound on Highway 175 east of R Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Manlick vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Reece Gilbert, 18, of Reinbeck, was westbound on 215th Street east of W Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gilbert vehicle was estimated at $4,000.

• On Friday, a pickup driven by Constance Stewart-Ellis, 47, of Humboldt, was westbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stewart-Ellis pickup was estimated at $2,000.

• On Thursday, a vehicle driven by Debra Bausman, 64, of Wellsburg, was westbound on D-67 east of Highway 14 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bausman vehicle was estimated at $3,500.

• On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male from Wellsburg was eastbound on 130th Street east of B Avenue when it was cresting a hill and crowding the center of the road due to snow on the edge when he met a vehicle driven by Ricky Kuper, 51, of Ackley, attempted to take evasive action which resulted in Kuper colliding with the driver’s side rear of his vehicle spinning it around and sending it backwards down the hill and into the north ditch. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-way road. Damage to the juvenile’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the Kuper vehicle received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a vehicle driven by Michael Minikus, 51, of Holland, was eastbound when the driver lost control on the slippery roadway and entered the south ditch where it rolled onto its side. Minikus sustained minor injuries. Damage to the Minikus vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
