• Ronald William Metivier Jr. made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge, a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and on a warrant charging him with forgery and theft-third degree. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel for all charges. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. The preliminary hearing on the new charges is set at 1 p.m. on March 29. Bond for the new charges is $7,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Derek Matthew Curley made an initial appearance on a carrying weapons charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 29. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Joshua J. Buschbom made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on March 29. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Deandre Antonio Davis made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• James Patrick Cronin made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for sentencing charge. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The sentencing hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Ryan Purdy made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. Purdy pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on April 24 in Magistrate Court. Purdy was released on his promise to appear.

• Angeline Marie Short made an initial appearance with her probation officer on a petition to extend probation. Further court proceedings will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Short was released on her promise to appear.

• Lilea Flower Moore made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Moore pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on April 24 in Magistrate Court.

• On Monday, a case of vandalism to property was reported iin the 200 block of South 15th Avenue.

• On Monday, Orlando Lamar Lewis, 39, was cited for no insurance-accident.

• On Monday, Juana Saldivar, 24, was cited for no valid driver’s license, no insurance-accident and leaving the scene of an accident.

• On Monday, Adrienne Enriquez, 43, was arrested for no insurance and driving under suspension.

Accidents

• On Friday, a car driven by Juan Eduardo Rivas-Martinez, 18, was westbound on East Olive Street when it attempted a left turn onto Governor Road when it collided with a pickup driven by Jesse James Buchanan, 27, of Marshalltown, causing the truck’s rear driver side tire to go over the top hood of the car. No injuries were reported. Rivas-Martinez was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to the Rivas-Martinez car was estimated at $6,000 while the Buchanan pickup received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Friday, a car driven by Sarah Ann Springer, 38, of Des Moines, was westbound on the entrance ramp from South Center Street to Highway 30 when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Marc William Broer, 66, of Des Moines. No injuries were reported. Springer was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Springer car was estimated at $3,500 while the Broer car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Kathleen Amber Dolan, 26, of Marshalltown, was fleeing the area after her passenger attempted to rob the driver of a car driven by Cole William Welden, 19, of Marshalltown, when Dolan collided with the Welden car. No injuries were reported. Dolan was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and no insurance-accident. Damage to the Dolan car was estimated at $500 while the Welden car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Monday, Kyle Mulinix, 34, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine-first offense.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Saturday, Jillian Henricksen, 31, of Grundy Center, was arrested at her home on two Black Hawk County warrants. Henricksen was released to Black Hawk County authorities.

• On March 13, Jenny Baedke, 22, of Beaman, was arrested and charged with violation of a no-contact order. Baedke was released on her promise to appear.

• On March 13, Austin Ditty, 28, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck and charged with attempted burglary-second degree. Ditty was released with supervision through Pre-trial Services. Ditty was also charged with burglary-third degree from an incident that occurred on March 11 in Reinbeck.

Accidents

• On March 6, a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old female from Grundy Center was eastbound on Highway 175 near P Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000.

• On March 6, a vehicle driven by Kristy Giesking, 42, of Reinbeck, was eastbound on Highway 175 east of Morrison when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Giesking vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Noble, 56, of Aplington, was merging onto Highway 20 from Highway 14 when the driver lost control on the ramp when he hit an icy patch, entered the south ditch and turned over onto its side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Noble vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
