Court — Wednesday

• Gustavo Adolfo Nava made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with three counts of failure to appear for trial. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The trials will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Timothy Eugene Sizemore, of Gilman, made an initial appearance on two counts of an assault causing bodily injury charge and a criminal mischief-fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 7. Sizemore is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

• Brett Allen Wolken made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Wolken pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• David James Lee Spencer made an initial appearance on two counts a probation violation charge and an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge and a trespass charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the new charges. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 26. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. Michael Marquess will continue as counsel on the probation violation charges. The probation revocation hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on May 13. Spencer is being held without bond.

• Robert Miracle made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for arraignment charge. The arraignment is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 24. A substance abuse evaluation is still needed to be filed with the court. Miracle is released on his promise to appear.

• Jagger Cain Purk made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Douglas Beals will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 2. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Darlinda Kay Warnell made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a operation without registration charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 7.

• Gi Seon Kim made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Kim pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 22 in Magistrate Court.

• Michael Joseph Schwebach made an initial appearance on a no registration charge, a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Schwebach pleaded guilty to all charges. On the no registration charge the fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The fine on the driving under suspension and no insurance charges is $250 each with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Melinda Diego made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Diego pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 22 in Magistrate Court.

• William Edward Ware III made an initial appearance on a failure to wear a seatbelt charge, a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Ware pleaded guilty to all charges. On the failure to wear a seatbelt charge the fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The fine on the driving under suspension and no insurance charges is $250 each with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, David Spencer, 21, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Dean Oziah, 48, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Tuesday, Brett Wolken, 43, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Accidents

• On Monday, a pickup driven by Timothy Diven Nichols, 34, was eastbound on Iowa Avenue attempting to turn onto Highway 14 when it crossed the path of acar driven by Araceli Barajas Morales, 43, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Nichols was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to the Nichols pickup was estimated $5,000 while the Barajas Morales car received an estimated $6,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a vehicle driven by JC Rae McManus, 40, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Center Street when it entered the intersection of Berle Road on a red light and collided with a pickup driven by Jeremy Charles Purk, 42, of Le Grand. No injuries were reported. McManus was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,500 each.

Incidents

• On Monday, a theft from a motor vehicle was reported in Le Grand.

• On Tuesday, three reports of burglaries to motor vehicles resulting in the theft of tools and equipment was reported iin Marshall County.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Timmy Sizemore, 54, was arrested for two counts of assault and criminal mischief-fifth degree.

• On Tuesday, Jagger Purk, 25, was arrested on a warrant charging him with contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Tuesday, Michael Curley, 57, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

• On Tuesday, Gustavo Nava, 23, was arrested on a warrant charging him with two counts of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-first offense, theft-third degree, forgery and driving while barred.

Accidents

• On Monday, a pickup driven by Jared Eugene Daggett, 33, was westbound on Summit Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Daggett pickup was estimated at $5,000.
